Sell digital products

Sell products that customers download instead of receiving by courier, such as e-books, music, software or printable designs. You upload the file to the product, and customers download it after they buy.

Before you start

• Digital products are turned on for your store by Shopnix. If you don't see the Digital Product option on the product form, contact Shopnix support to turn it on.
• Keep the file you want to sell ready. Each file can be up to 10 MB.

Add a digital product

1. Go to Store Manager → Products → Add a Product. To change an existing product, go to Store Manager → Products → Manage Products and open the product.
2. Fill in the product details as usual: type, category and subcategory, SKU, name, description, images and price. See Add a product.
3. Tick Digital Product.
4. Upload the file the customer will download.
5. Click Save.

Files larger than 10 MB cannot be uploaded. Compress the file or split it into smaller parts.

What customers see

1. The customer buys the product and checks out like any other order.
2. Shopnix sends the customer an email for the digital order.
3. The customer downloads the file they bought from your store.

Example

You sell a recipe e-book for ₹199. Add it as a product under the type Books, tick Digital Product and upload the PDF file (under 10 MB). When a customer buys it, they get the digital order email and can download the PDF.
